Missouri citizens expect and demand an active voice in the location and design of transportation facilities. They recognize the important role transportation has in their life as well as the life of their community. Existing transportation facilities and in particular transportation improvements, have a direct impact on the social, economic and environmental resources of the community. As a result, MoDOT values the input the public provides on
transportation improvements and has established various methods to gather it. Some of these methods are:

- Open-House Public Hearings
- Design Public Hearings

In addition, MoDOT provides useful; information to Missourians concerning the operation of the highway system. This information is available from the following sources:
The development of quality transportation improvements depends on early, often and continuous involvement of the public in project decisions. Additionally, real time information about the State’s highway system permits the traveling public to use it efficiently. MoDOT always looks for ways to improve the quantity and quality of transportation information to the citizens of Missouri.
