This article establishes procedures for Laboratory testing and reporting galvanized steel posts. Refer to Sec 1044 for MoDOT’s specifications.
1044.5.1 Procedure
Laboratory tests to be performed on the sample are designated by the inspector in the remarks area of SiteManager.
1044.5.1.1 Chemical Tests
The procedure for determining mass of coating shall be according to AASHTO T65. Original test data and calculations shall be recorded in Laboratory workbooks. Test results shall then be recorded through SiteManager.
1044.5.1.2 Physical Tests
Dimensions, shape, mass, length, and hole punching shall be measured for conformance to Standard Plan 903.03. To determine the mass per linear foot (linear meter) of a galvanized steel post after fabrication, refer to 1044.3 Calculations. Test results shall be recorded through SiteManager.
1044.5.2 Sample Record
The sample record shall be completed in SiteManager, as described in Automation Section, and shall indicate acceptance, qualified acceptance, or rejection. Appropriate remarks, as described in EPG 106.20 Reporting, are to be included in the remarks to clarify conditions of acceptance or rejection. Test results shall be reported on the appropriate templates under the Tests tab.
