This article establishes procedures for Laboratory testing and reporting samples of precast concrete box culverts. Refer to Sec 1048 for MoDOT’s specifications.
1049.4.1 Procedure
Compression Test. Samples may consist of two standard concrete cylinders made in accordance with AASHTO T23 or one core drilled from the wall of the section in accordance with AASHTO T280.

All sample records shall be completed in SiteManager, as described in Automation Section 3510. Test results shall be reported on the appropriate templates under the Tests tab. Compression test results for concrete cylinders shall include the notation in remarks, "Specimens submitted for compressive strength at the age indicated." Compression test results for concrete cores shall include the notation in remarks, "Sample submitted for the determinations indicated." Absorption test results for concrete cores or pieces from the wall of the section shall indicate acceptance, qualified acceptance, or rejection. Appropriate remarks, as described in 106.9 Reporting Test Results, are to be included in the remarks to clarify conditions of acceptance or rejection.
