MoDOT issues permits for vehicles and/or equipment exceeding the legal limits for width, length, height and weight if a safe route can be found.

To obtain a MoDOT Overdimension/Overweight Permit, MoDOT offices do not need to be open. Requests may be submitted now. All applications received by 5 PM Central Time, Monday through Friday, are processed for issue the same business day. Permits submitted after 5 PM are processed by noon the following business day.

Permits are usually issued within 60 minutes. If the permit has not arrived within an hour, check its status through the website. "Held" indicates the application needs a correction. "Pending" means Motor Carrier Services' review is not complete.
