This article establishes procedures for Laboratory testing and reporting samples of liquid fertilizer. Refer to Sec 801 for MoDOT’s specifications.

801.2.1 Sample Procedure

Samples of these materials as received in the Laboratory shall be thoroughly mixed and a representative sample taken.

801.2.2 Testing Procedure

Liquid fertilizer shall be tested according to the following methods:

a) Nitrogen (N) in liquid form, MoDOT Test Method TM29
b) Phosphoric Acid (P205) in liquid form - AOAC, seventh edition 1950, gravimetric method, Sec. 2.8 - 2.10
c) Potash (K20) in liquid form, MoDOT Test Method TM28.

All test data and calculations shall be recorded in Laboratory workbooks. Test results shall then be recorded through AASHTOWARE Project (AWP).

801.2.3 Sample Record

The sample record shall be completed in AASHTOWARE Project (AWP), as described in AWP MA Sample Record, General, and shall indicate acceptance, qualified acceptance or rejection. Appropriate remarks, as described in EPG 106.20 Reporting, are to be included in the remarks to clarify conditions of acceptance or rejection. Test results shall be reported on the appropriate template under the Tests tab.
